This course is an introduction to a broad range of numerical methods for solving mathematical problems that arise in Science and Engineering. The goal is to provide a basic understanding of the derivation, analysis, and use of these numerical methods, along with a rudimentary under standing of finite precision arithmetic and the conditioning and stability of the various problems and methods. This will help you choose, develop and apply the appropriate numerical techniques for your problem, interpret the results, and assess accuracy.
本課程內容包含理論介紹、公式推導、軟體工具應用、工程應用範例與習題,內容多元,由於其知識泛用於工程、數理科學、統計分析,甚至被選入本校能源學程選修及(跨領域)神經科學學分課程。
This course includes theoretical introduction, formula derivation, software tool application, engineering application examples and exercises. The content is diverse and the knowledge is widely used in engineering, multiple sciences, and statistical analysis, such taht it is selected as an energy program elective and (interdisciplinary) neuroscience credited course at NTHU.
